Former Executive Director of the Bronx County Democratic Committee Ischia Bravo Launches 2016 Campaign for a new vision in Albany and a fresh voice for the residents of the 78th Assembly District in the Bronx, New York. Ischia Bravo a long time executive director of the Bronx CDC under the leadership of the current Speaker of the New York State Assembly Hon. Carl Heastie states that she noted the current lack of representation in the district and a need for reform in housing, employment and education. Ms. Bravo said in 2008 she took an oath to help change the Bronx as the Exec. Director of the Bronx CDC, and helped guide the CDC organization to become a beacon of democratic principles for the rest of the nation.
Ms. Bravo may be the biggest challenge for Assembly Jose Rivera who for the last three decades worked tirelessly as an activist for the people of the Bronx, N.Y. who also was a contributor to the Hurricane Relief efforts in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Puerto Rico with Rev. Al Sharpton by visiting these countries to lead a helping hand. Ms. Bravo also has lent her helping hand which includes serving as a volunteer for the Latino Commission on AIDS, and serving as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention for President Barack Obama in 2012, she is currently a member of Bronx Community Board #7 and the 52nd Precinct Council. We take our hats off to both of these great people of the Bronx, New York and hope to see a clean fight.
The primary elections in the Bronx, New York is September 13, 2016, this battle is sure to bring out every voter in the 78th Assembly District. Voter turnout in the Bronx primary is very low.
